About the Principal

Tim Kennedy is the owner and President of Kennedy Services Corporation. Mr. Kennedy has forty years of experience in a variety of businesses and charities. He has incorporated three nonprofits, and owned four businesses in whole or part.

For twelve years, he was a partner in a healthcare billing and consulting firm. He sold his interest in that business to join a nonprofit consulting firm, The Metropolitan Economic Development Association (MEDA). There, he helped minority business owners improve their businesses and initiated several high-profile business partnerships. He operated Greek Letter Catering during many of those years, catering affordable meals to students at the University of Minnesota. In December 2004, Mr. Kennedy was recruited to become both Executive Director and Director of Alumni Development of the Zeta Psi Educational Foundation of Pearl River, NY. Mr. Kennedy’s achievements there include controlling costs, expanding the corps of volunteers, reversing many years of declining donations, improving communication and relations with the international member base, and first rescuing and then vastly expanding the membership database.

Mr. Kennedy returned to MEDA in 2007 to establish a contruction practice. He resumed management of the Construction Partnership Program, and expanded MEDA’s construction offerings to include services to agencies and major construction firms. The Minnesota Ballpark Authority awarded MEDA a multi-year contract upon which Mr. Kennedy was the principal performer. A free internet construction plan room was created under his leadership. Kennedy Services Corporation performed a multiyear grant from the Central Corridor Funders Collaborative to Meda from 2011 to 2014.

Mr. Kennedy has organized events across North America, including two series of traveling educational seminars, and two four-day conventions of 300 people. He has created fundraising programs using web and mail campaigns, silent auctions, gala dinners. Mr. Kennedy has been a member or chair of several nonprofit boards.

Mr. Kennedy became a partner in the Hidden Harbor Marina in Saint Paul Park, MN in 2009. He assumed management responsibilities in 2014 and became sole owner in 2018. He owns and manages Willie’s Family Restaurant, located within the marina property.
